Comfort Systems USA Mid South is a leading building and service provider for mechanical, electrical and plumbing building systems. In June 1997, the parent company (Comfort Systems USA) went public with 12 operating companies. Today, they are composed of more than 46 operating companies in over 140 locations across the United States. Their tremendous growth has been accomplished by successfully expanding services to existing customers and attracting high-quality operations to our network of companies.

The Problem

At Comfort Systems USA Mid South, uniforms are not only vital to ensure employee safety, but they represent professionalism and build trust with customers, increasing the customer’s value perception.

Comfort Systems was experiencing challenges when it came to employee uniforms. They’ve worked with multiple vendors placing one-off orders with varying degrees of success. With some, service was great. With others, it was subpar. Quality was hit-and-miss as well. As a sizeable contractor, Comfort Systems USA Mid South must adhere to strict service level agreements that include showing up on site on time and in identifiable uniforms. Without a centralized uniform program in place, they were at the mercy of different vendors.

Our client found it challenging to find a supplier that could provide a high level of customer service and be agile and able to handle their unique requests. Operating in a construction industry, employees sometimes need to start a job at 4am, and need to arrive on site in a proper uniform, which may mean ordering uniforms just days in advance and being able to send them directly to employees. Those uniforms also need to be high quality and look consistent. Having access to enough quality stock to be able to screen print or embroider was key. They haven’t been able to find those capabilities with their apparel vendors. In turn, it was difficult for Comfort Systems to live up to their customers’ expectations.

Solution

We created a uniform store for Comfort Systems USA Mid South, complete with an array of uniforms based on their chosen apparel styles and colors. We also added dozens of promotional products under the same roof – from customer gift items to branded employee awards. We handpicked the products based on the client’s specifications and ensured that a wide range of sizes was available in the client’s preferred color. We also processed the logo and graphics and adapted them to different products.

The order process is streamlined and their company store doesn’t have any maintenance fees.

Client is also enjoying having the uniforms shipped directly and freeing staff time whereas in the past staff had to chase down orders and make deliveries to the different office and site locations. Employees are excited to have access to branded company merchandise at the same prices as the business.

ProLine is very receptive to our needs. They have a wide variety of products, but anytime we need an item that we don’t have in our company store, our ProLine reps go out of their way to get it for us at great prices.

Currently, Comfort Systems USA has 46 operating locations with several locations using the web portals to order uniforms and promo products through ProLine. They are getting great feedback from team members about the company stores.
